Hi there!

The following list includes the top 10 places (in no specific order) to go in Manhattan, New York from a locals point of view. Sure any tourist can go to on a water taxi ride to the Statue of Liberty or pay way too much for a Central Park horse and carriage ride and dinner at The Boat House. This list includes the hole in the wall places you would have passed on your way to Time Square to gawk at all the sparkly lights and have over priced drinks at..let me guess.. The Hard Rock. There's nothing wrong with any of the places I mentioned but do yourself a favor a read my list. Having lived in Manhattan for almost 20 years I'm sure I can recommend a few good places. You can thank me later!

Chelsea Market
Chelsea Market is a hole in the wall in its own way.  From the outside it looks like an old brick building but on the inside it is a bustling market with lots of shops, restaurants, and even a grocery store.  Many years ago this old brick building was the Nabisco factory where the Oreo was invented! Now you can find shops like Amy's Bread, which is famous around New York for their freshly baked breads, or stores like The Lobster Place which has the best fresh seafood in the area. Other stores include Fat Witch Bakery which is home to my favorite brownies, and Ronnybrook Dairy which has the most amazing homemade ice cream.  The Chelsea Market is also known for hosting sample sales for various designers throughout the year.  If for nothing else, just take a stroll through the Chelsea Market, I'm sure you'll enjoy the aromas and a little bit of people watching as you walk through.
